Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actor who is employed on TV and in films is well known for movies like Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her professional career in showbiz early. Her roles included lead characters in TV dramas as young as 16 years old. The audience was impressed by her role as a character in Der Tunnel. This paved the way to other memorable parts, such as Adolf Hitler's Secretariat Traudl Junge. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are the other Oscar nominated features featuring female stars. Alexandra is involved in many noteworthy projects, both in the United States as well as internationally. They include the British biographical film Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French historic miniseries Napoleon and many more. She has also been a juror at the Transylvania International Film Festival as well as the Cannes Film Festival.
